Mountains Above Us

Many of you may not know that there are some pretty big mountains in Southern California.  I know that before I moved here, I never imagined snow capped mountains lingering above the L.A. area.  There are, however, some pretty impressive mountains surrounding us her in Northern Orange County. I captured some pictures while driving (I was safe about it) to share with everyone the sights we see when we get a clear view of the mountains. Because of pollution and haze, we don't get a clear view everyday. But this winter air has been nice for mountain gazing, and right after a good rain is the perfect time to see the area too. I also got some pictures of the wind mills near Palm Desert and Palm Springs when I was driving to Phoenix to see my sister.  I will blog more about my visit with Alyssa, but for now, here are some pictures of our beautiful surroundings!

This is Mount Baldy, in the Angeles National Forest

Mount Baldy again

This is the view towards the San Bernadino Mountains where Big Bear Lake is located

I believe this is still a look at the San Bernadino Mountains

There are so many wind mills in this valley, it is pretty spectacular. I wish I could catch them all!
